Some explanations of some bead terms that we use throughout our website and catalog.
Ghost– Frosted Iridescent
Hank– A group of seed beads, usually from the Czech Republic, on strands tied together.
You usually get 12- 20 inch strands of beads in a hank with several exceptions.
Three cuts, both 9/0’s and 12/0’s, there are 10 strands with a total of 3,000 beads.
Lumi– Color coating (over crystal) that makes beads look brighter then the regular transparent colors.
Magic– The Magic finish is double Vitrail coating then dyed. Does not fade and very vibrant coloring!
Miyuki– One of the three Japanese Bead factories which create fantastically beautiful beads.
Opaque Beads– Solid Color beads where light does not pass through.
Preciosa– A bead factory in the Czech Republic known for making beautiful beads and responsible for our fantastic bead habits.
Supra– Semi Frosted Pearl
Tint– A high quality dying process that is much better than regular dyed beads, usually will last several years.
Toho– One of the three Japanese Bead factories which create fantastically beautiful beads.
Transparent Beads– Glass beads that allows light to pass through.
Vega– A heavy Purplish Gold Luster finish.
